Stay for the Skiing

Alta is for skiers. Known for light, dry, deep snow and world-renowned powder skiing; for terrain appealing to all levels of skiers; for bluebird days and winter storms; and for an authentic mountain feeling that begins and ends with the skiing itself, Alta connects us to the soul of skiing.

Alta Lodge is a true skier’s lodge, located at 8,600 feet (2,620 meters), at the base of Alta Ski Area – yet just 32 miles (52 km) from the Salt Lake International Airport. The Lodge’s perfect on-mountain location and adjacent surface lift provide ski-in, and ski-out access directly to Alta’s Collins and Wildcat lifts.

Alta Ski Area

The average annual snowfall of 547 inches (13.9 meters) creates not only great powder skiing but also wonderfully easy-to-ski groomed conditions. In addition to expert runs, Alta has many runs and several lifts devoted to beginner and intermediate skiing, making it a perfect destination for every skier. Alta continues its tradition of skiing only, with no lift-served snowboarding.
